Types of Hajj:

Hajj is performed in three different forms:

1. Ifrad (Isolation):
   The pilgrim enters Ihram intending Hajj only. He says:

   “Labbayka Allahumma Hajjًا” (Here I am, O Allah, for Hajj)
   and performs the rites of Hajj alone.

2. Qiran (Combination):
   In this form, the pilgrim enters Ihram intending both Umrah and Hajj together. He says:

   “Labbayka Allahumma Umrahan wa Hajjًا” (Here I am, O Allah, for Umrah and Hajj)
   and performs them together in a single ritual.

   • According to the majority of scholars, the two rituals are intertwined: one may perform a single Tawaf (circumambulation) and Sa’i (ritual walking) that suffices for both Hajj and Umrah.

   • According to the Hanafi scholars, the pilgrim performing Qiran must perform two Tawafs and two Sa’is: one Tawaf and Sa’i for Umrah, and one Tawaf (Tawaf al-Ziyarah) and Sa’i for Hajj. It is obligatory for the Qarin to offer a sacrifice (Hadi) according to consensus.

3. Tamattu‘ (Enjoyment):
   The pilgrim enters Ihram for Umrah only during the Hajj months, saying:

   “Labbayka Allahumma Umrah” (Here I am, O Allah, for Umrah)
   He performs the rites of Umrah and then exits Ihram. He may stay in Makkah freely, and later enters Ihram for Hajj and performs its rites. It is obligatory for him to offer a sacrifice (Hadi) according to consensus.

هيئات الحج :
يؤدى الحج على ثلاث هيئات هي:

• الإفراد : وهو أن يحرم الحاج بالحج فقط عند إحرامه، فيقول «لبيك اللهم حجًا» ثم يأتي بأعمال الحج وحده.
• القران : وهيئته أن يحرم بالعمرة والحج جميعا, فيقول : «لبيك اللهم عمرة وحجًا» فيأتي بهما في نسك واحد.
  وقال الجمهور : إنهما يتداخلان, فيطوف طوافا واحدا ويسعى سعيًا واحدًا ويجزئه ذلك عن الحج والعمرة.
  وقال السادة الحنفية : يطوف القارن طوافين ويسعى سعيين, طواف وسعي للعمرة, ثم طواف الزيارة والسعي للحج. ويجب على القارن أن ينحر هديًا بالإجماع.
• التمتع : وهو أن يحرم بالعمرة فقط في أشهر الحج, فيقول : «لبيك اللهم عمرة» ويأتي مكة فيؤدي مناسك العمرة, ويتحلل. ويمكث بمكة حلالا, ثم يحرم بالحج ويأتي بأعماله. ويجب عليه أن ينحر هديا بالإجماع.
