اسم الله الأعظم

The Sufi masters spoke about the Greatest Name of Allah as mentioned in the noble Prophetic Sunnah. They held that Allah, Glorified and Exalted, has hidden eight things within eight things, all of which are established in the Sacred Law:

He hid Laylat al-Qadr within the last ten nights of Ramadan — “Indeed, We sent it down on the Night of Decree” — but which night is Laylat al-Qadr, the night that is better than a thousand months? And when exactly is it? Allah concealed it among all the last ten nights in order to encourage the believers to stand in worship throughout the entire ten nights.

Likewise, He hid the middle prayer among the other daily prayers.

And He hid the Hour of acceptance on Friday.

He also hid the Hour of acceptance in the last third of the night, as mentioned in the hadith:

“Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of the night and says: Is there anyone asking so that I may give him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness so that I may forgive him?”
This is narrated with the verb in the nominative case in al-Bukhārī’s narration, and in other narrations in the subjunctive case.

Likewise, He hid the saint (walī) of Allah among people, so that all people may be honored and respected.

And among what He concealed, He hid the Greatest Name of Allah among His Beautiful Names.

It has been said regarding the Greatest Name that it is “Allah”, or “Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate”, or “Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting”, or a combination of these, or a combination of what appears in Sūrat al-Fātiḥah — and there are many opinions. But what truly matters is the heart of the one who recites and remembers. Your heart must be attached to Allah, Glorified and Exalted, so that your remembrance contains the Greatest Name of Allah which He has concealed among the other Names.

Likewise, Allah, Glorified and Exalted, hid the major sins among all sins, so that one would avoid all sins out of fear that a sin one is inclined toward might be among the major sins — especially when one seeks to purify oneself from major sins — thus staying far away from all of them.

He also hid the Seven Oft-Repeated verses within the Noble Qur’an.

Thus, He hid eight things within eight things — a reflection noted by the righteous Sufi masters, may Allah be pleased with them and grant them His pleasure.

تكلم السادة الصوفية عن اسم الله الأعظم كما ورد في السنة النبوية المشرفة ، ورأوا أن الله سبحانه وتعالى قد اخفى ثمانية أشياء في ثمانية وكلها وردت في الشرع الشريف :

فاخفى ليلة القدر في العشر الأواخر من رمضان {إِنَّا أّنْزَلْنَّاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ القَدْر} ولكن ما ليلة القدر التي هى خير من ألف شهر ؟ وما موعدها ؟ أخفاها الله في سائر العشر الأواخر ؛وذلك حتى يشجع المؤمنين على أن تقوم العشرة بحالها .
وكذلك أخفى الصلاة الوسطى في سائر الصلوات .
واخفى سبحانه وتعالى ساعة الإجابة في يوم الجمعة .
واخفى سبحانه وتعالى ساعة الإجابة في ثُلث الليل الأخير «ينزل ربنا إلى السماء الدنيا في ثلث الليل الأخير، فيقول: هل من سائلٍ فأُعْطِيْه، هل من مستغفرٍ فأغفِرُ له» هكذا بالرفع في رواية البخاري ، وفى رواية غيره – فأُعْطِيَه، فأغفِرَ له – بالنصب .
كذلك فإنه أخفى ولىَّ الله في الناس حتى تحترم الناس كلهم .
واخفى أيضاً فيما اخفى اسم الله الأعظم في سائر أسمائه الحسنى .
اسم الله الأعظم ورد فيه أنه هو “الله” ، أو “الله الرحمن الرحيم” ، أو “الله الحي القيوم” ، أو مجموع ذلك ، أو مجموع ما ورد في الفاتحة إلى آخر ما هنالك أقوال كثيرة ،ولكن العبرة بقلب القارئ والذاكر ،ولابد أن يتعلق قلبك بالله سبحانه وتعالى حتى يكون الذكر يشتمل على اسم الله الأعظم الذي أخفاه الله سبحانه وتعالى في سائر الأسماء .
كذلك اخفى الله سبحانه وتعالى الكبائر في سائر الذنوب ؛حتى تبتعد عن الذنوب كلها خيفة أن يكون هذا الذنب الذي قد دعتك الرغبة إليه من الكبائر، وأنت تريد أن تنزه نفسك من الكبائر ولذلك تبتعد كل البعد عن هذه الأشياء .
كما اخفى السبع المثاني في القرآن العظيم.
وبذلك أخفى ثمانية في ثمانية ، هذا تتبع السادة الصوفية الأبرار رضي الله تعالى عنهم وارضاهم .
