“O God, do not make my grave a place of celebration.”

Our Master the Prophet is referring to us in a subtle way: Do not stop visiting me and do not cease celebrating and honoring me (peace and blessings be upon him).

The concept of “Eid” is that which is repeated throughout the year, and the concept of “Eid” is that which comes periodically. Friday, as stated in authentic narrations, is a holiday for Muslims that is repeated every week, and Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr are repeated annually.

Therefore, “Eid” is something that people are accustomed to repeating over and over again. The Prophet, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, said, “O God, do not make my grave a place of celebration.” That is, do not make it a place to be visited once in a lifetime or once a year. Rather, make people always celebrate at my grave, that is, gather at my grave.

One of the meanings of “Eid” is “gathering.” The Prophet’s words do not mean that we visit it twice, three, four, or ten times a year. The Prophet does not want to cause us hardship. He even said, “Your greetings reach me wherever you are.”

He is a compassionate companion, but he is from the entirety of his nation. He does not want that place to be empty, that there should be no one there. He wants to be friendly with the Muslims and for the Muslims to be friendly with him. He wants people to gather at it.

So he said, “O God, do not make my grave a place of celebration.” That is, do not make it a place where people visit it once a year and then leave me. For I love them and they love me.

” اللهم لا تجعل قبري عيدا “

سيدنا النبي يشير إلينا من طرف خفي ، أي : لا تقطعوا زيارتكم عني ولا تكفوا عن الاحتفآء والاحتفال بي (عليه الصلاة والسلام)

فإن مفهوم العيد : الذي يتكرر فى العام ، ومفهوم العيد الذي يأتي دوريا .

فيوم الجمعة كما جآء فى الروايات الصحيحة ، هو يوم عيد للمسلمين يتكرر كل أسبوع , وعيد الأضحى وعيد الفطر يتكرر كل عام

فالعيد هو ما يعتاده الناس تكرارا كل زمان .

فالنبى صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يقول ” اللهم لا تجعل قبري عيدا ، أي لا تجعله زيارة فى العمر مرة أو فى العام مرة , بل اجعل الناس دآئما يحتفلون عندي ، أي يجتمعون عندي .

فإن من معاني العيد : الاجتماع ، وليس معنى كلام النبي أننا نأتيه نحن فى العام مرتين وثلاثة وأربعة وعشرة ، فإن النبي لا يريد المشقة علينا .

حتى أنه قال إن سلامكم يبلغني حيثما كنتم ، فهو رفيقٌ شفيقُ ، لكنه من مجموع أُمته يريد ألا يكون ذلك المقام خاليا , ألا يكون ذلك الموضع ليس فيه أحد , يريد أن يستأنس بالمسلمين ويستأنس المسلمين به ، يريد أن يجتمع الناس عنده ، فقال ” اللهم لا تجعل قبري عيدا ” ، أي لا تجعله مرة فى العام يأتيه الناس ثم ينقطعون عني ، فإني أحبهم وهم يحبوني
