وتَكْفُرْنَ العَشِيرَ

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out on Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr to the prayer area (musalla).

Then he returned, gave advice to the people, and commanded them to give charity.

He said:
"O people, give charity."

Then he passed by the women and said:
"O women, give charity, for I have seen that you are the majority of the people of Hellfire."

They asked:
"And why is that, O Messenger of Allah?"

He replied:
"You frequently curse and disbelieve in your relatives. I have not seen anyone among those deficient in intellect and religion who causes more trouble for a wise, firm man than one of you, O women."

Then he departed.

When he returned to his house, Zaynab, the wife of Ibn Mas‘ood, came seeking permission to enter.

It was said:
"O Messenger of Allah, this is Zaynab."

He asked:
"Which Zaynab?"

It was said:
"The wife of Ibn Mas‘ood."

He said:
"Yes, allow her to enter."

She said:
"O Prophet of Allah, you commanded charity today, and I have some jewelry. I want to give it in charity."

Ibn Mas‘ood claimed:
"She should give it to us—me and my children—we are more deserving of her charity."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Ibn Mas‘ood is right. Your husband and children are the most deserving of the charity you give."

The text then reflects on marital conflict:

Undoubtedly, there are many unknown stories about violence between spouses.
This violence is usually not mutual—one party is violent, the other is submissive.

Violence comes in two types:

1. Physical

2. Verbal

Undoubtedly, physical violence among husbands is more common, whereas wives’ violence is mostly verbal and through insults.

People differ in judging which type is more painful or harmful.

خَرَجَ رَسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ في أضْحًى أوْ فِطْرٍ إلى المُصَلَّى
ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ ، فَوَعَظَ النَّاسَ ، وأَمَرَهُمْ بالصَّدَقَةِ
فَقَالَ: أيُّها النَّاسُ ، تَصَدَّقُوا
فَمَرَّ علَى النِّسَاءِ، فَقَالَ: يا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، تَصَدَّقْنَ ، فإنِّي رَأَيْتُكُنَّ أكْثَرَ أهْلِ النَّارِ

فَقُلْنَ: وبِمَ ذلكَ يا رَسولَ اللَّهِ؟

قَالَ: تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ ، وتَكْفُرْنَ العَشِيرَ
ما رَأَيْتُ مِن نَاقِصَاتِ عَقْلٍ ودِينٍ ، أذْهَبَ لِلُبِّ الرَّجُلِ الحَازِمِ ، مِن إحْدَاكُنَّ
يا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ

ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ ، فَلَمَّا صَارَ إلى مَنْزِلِهِ
جَاءَتْ زَيْنَبُ ، امْرَأَةُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، تَسْتَأْذِنُ عليه
فقِيلَ: يا رَسولَ اللَّهِ ، هذِه زَيْنَبُ ، فَقَالَ: أيُّ الزَّيَانِبِ؟ فقِيلَ: امْرَأَةُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
قَالَ: نَعَمْ، ائْذَنُوا لَهَا فَأُذِنَ لَهَا

قَالَتْ: يا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، إنَّكَ أمَرْتَ اليومَ بالصَّدَقَةِ ، وكانَ عِندِي حُلِيٌّ لِي ، فأرَدْتُ أنْ أتَصَدَّقَ به
فَزَعَمَ ابنُ مَسْعُودٍ: أنَّه ووَلَدَهُ أحَقُّ مَن تَصَدَّقْتُ به عليهم
فَقَالَ النبيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ: صَدَقَ ابنُ مَسْعُودٍ
زَوْجُكِ ووَلَدُكِ أحَقُّ مَن تَصَدَّقْتِ به عليهم

 

مما لا شك فيه أن هناك الكثير من القصص الغير معروفة عن العنف بين الأزواج

وهذا العنف لا يكون في العادة متبادلاً ، فقط طرف عنيف وأخر مستسلم

والعنف نوعان: فعلي ولفظي

ومما لا شك فيه أن العنف الفعلي للأزواج أكثر انتشاراً

بينما عنف الزوجات أكثره لفظاً وسباباً

ويختلف الناس في تقرير أيهم أكثر إيلاماً وعنفاً
