Islam is for Everyone

Ellen, Vic: “I was born in Sydney into a Catholic family, all Aussies dating back to the days of the convicts :-0 the original criminals! Haha

I met and married my husband in 2010 and we managed an interfaith marriage; I was always on high alert that he’d try to convert me so my guard was always up on this topic.

Subhanallah, they say the best way to lead someone to Islam is simply to practise Islam to its fullest.

In 2019, my husband began to be more proactive about his faith. He told me that Prophet Mohammad says the best of you are the best to their wives. He asked me what I wanted to change or achieve and let’s work on it together.

Looking back, this was the turning point that sparked in me an open mind to Islam.

Alhamdulillah, I Converted to Islam in 2020 and my life has changed in ways I can’t even begin to explain. To know that Allah SWT, the most merciful, is there for me..that I am always protected, no matter what. To finally understand the lessons of the beginning of our creation, the journey and the pending judgement day. I have found a new perspective on this life, Subhan Allah.

I travelled to live in Egypt in 2020 to immerse myself into a Muslim culture. After 7 months abroad I realised – Islam is for everyone, not just the Arabs. Allah is with everyone, every nation, every country, every colour, rich, poor – I can be Muslim anywhere. Alhamdulillah Australia is the most beautiful multicultural society and we are lucky to call it home!”
