الشيخ الأكبر ابن عربي

 

What is the correct stance of the Ahl al-Sunnah (people of the Sunnah) towards the Shaykh al-Akbar Ibn ‘Arabi, especially regarding what has been attributed to him of philosophical statements that contradict reason and the principles of Ahl al-Sunnah?
Are these statements perhaps falsely attributed to him?

ما الموقف الصحيح عند أهل السنة تجاه الشيخ

 الأكبر ابن عربي

لاسيما فيما نُسب إليه من كلام فلسفى متناقض

 مع العقل وأصول أهل السنة

فهل هو مدسوسٌ عليه

Whoever has tasted gnosis (ma‘rifah), and whoever has attained it has drawn deeply from it, knows that language is not equipped to express it.

Knowledge multiplies in the heart of the gnostic.

We have made it forbidden for others—those who do not grasp the meaning—to read it; let them study it in the presence of a Shaykh.

من ذاق عرف ، ومن عرف أغترف ،

 واللغة غير مهيأة لذلك

تكاثر المعارف علي قلب العارف

كتبنا حرام على غيرنا

من لا يدرك المعني ، فليقرأه على شيخ
