Abu ‘Uthman al-Jabri, may God have mercy on him, said:
-
Companionship with God is through good manners, constant reverence, and vigilant awareness of Him.
-
Companionship with the Messenger (peace be upon him and his family) is by following his Sunnah and adhering to outward knowledge.
-
Companionship with the friends of God (awliya’ Allah) is through respect and service.
-
Companionship with one’s family is by good character and conduct.
-
Companionship with brothers/friends is by maintaining friendly relations, as long as it involves no sin.
-
Companionship with the ignorant is through prayer for them and showing them mercy.

والصحبة مع أولياء الله تعالى : بالاحترام والخدمة
والصحبة مع الأهل: بحسن الخلق
