السعادة والشقاوة

Allah, the Exalted, says:

“The Day will come when no soul will speak except by His permission. Among them will be the wretched and the happy.
As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, with sighing and groaning,
abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Indeed, your Lord is ever Doing what He intends.
But as for those who are happy, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills—a gift without end.”
(Surah Hud 105–108)

It is narrated from ʿAlī رضي الله عنه that:

“We were at a funeral in Baqī‘ al-Gharqad when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us. He sat down, and we sat around him. He had with him a mikhsara (a stick), with which he began to strike the ground. Then he said:
‘There is not among you any person, nor any soul born, except that its place in Paradise or the Fire has already been recorded—whether wretched or happy.’”

A man said:

“O Messenger of Allah, should we not rely on our Book (i.e., destiny) and leave deeds? If any of us is among the happy, he will do the deeds of the happy; and if any of us is among the wretched, he will do the deeds of the wretched.”

The Prophet ﷺ replied:

“As for the people of happiness, they are facilitated in performing the deeds of the people of happiness. And as for the people of wretchedness, they are facilitated in performing the deeds of the people of wretchedness.”

Then he recited:

(“As for he who gives [in charity], fears Allah, and believes in the best reward”)—
(Surah Al-Layl 5–7)

قال تعالى: ” يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لاَ تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ (105) فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُواْ فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ (106)خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ إِلاَّ مَا شَاء رَبُّكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ (107) وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ سُعِدُواْ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ إِلاَّ مَا شَاء رَبُّكَ عَطَاء غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ (108)”
(سورة هود)

عَنْ عَليٌّ رضي الله عنه قالَ: كُنَّا في جَنَازَةٍ في بَقِيعِ الغَرْقَدِ فأتَانَا رَسولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ ، فَقَعَدَ وقَعَدْنَا حَوْلَهُ ومعهُ مِخْصَرَةٌ فَنَكَّسَ فَجَعَلَ يَنْكُتُ بمِخْصَرَتِهِ ثُمَّ قالَ: ما مِنكُم مِن أحَدٍ وما مِن نَفْسٍ مَنْفُوسَةٍ إلَّا كُتِبَ مَكَانُهَا مِنَ الجَنَّةِ والنَّارِ ، وإلَّا قدْ كُتِبَتْ شَقِيَّةً أوْ سَعِيدَةً.
قالَ رَجُلٌ: يا رَسولَ اللَّهِ ، أفلا نَتَّكِلُ علَى كِتَابِنَا ونَدَعُ العَمَلَ؟ فمَن كانَ مِنَّا مِن أهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ ، فَسَيَصِيرُ إلى عَمَلِ أهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ ، ومَن كانَ مِنَّا مِن أهْلِ الشَّقَاءِ ، فَسَيَصِيرُ إلى عَمَلِ أهْلِ الشَّقَاوَة. قالَ: أمَّا أهْلُ السَّعَادَةِ فيُيَسَّرُونَ لِعَمَلِ أهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ ، وأَمَّا أهْلُ الشَّقَاوَةِ فيُيَسَّرُونَ لِعَمَلِ أهْلِ الشَّقَاءِ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: (فَأَمَّا مَن أعْطَى واتَّقَى وصَدَّقَ بالحُسْنَى) الآيَةَ. رواه البخاري ومسلم

مِخْصَرة: عَصا
مَنْفوسة: مَولودة
شَقيَّةً: مُعَذَّبة
سَعيدة: فَرِحة بالْجَنَّةِ
