الزهد

Asceticism (Zuhd) in this world does not mean abandoning it; rather, it means that its value falls in our hearts.
By truly understanding things, we recognize their real worth.

The first way to attain asceticism is: to know the true nature of things.
The second way is: to truly know Allah.

The gnostic (those with deep knowledge of God), when they come to know Allah, love the world—not for its own sake—but because they see it as a blessing from Him.

• The first level: despises the world and belittles it.

• The second level: sees the world as a gift from Allah.

• The third level: does not see the world at all; rather, they see Allah in everything within it.

Thus, asceticism is: to be detached from seeing things except inasmuch as you see in them the most beautiful, noble, and perfect reality—which is Allah.

الزهد في الدنيا ليس معناه الترك و إنما يعني سقوط قدرها في قلوبنا،
فبتعرفنا على اﻷشياء نعرف حقيقة قدرها.
و الطريقة اﻷولى في الزهد هي: معرفة حقائق اﻷشياء
أما الطريقة الثانية فهي التعرف على الله.

و العارفون عندما تعرفوا على الله أحبوا الدنيا ﻷنهم رأوها نعمة منه تعالى.
فالمستوى اﻷول يذم الدنيا و يحقرها
و المستوى الثاني يرى أنها هدية من الله
و المستوى الثالث لا يرى الدنيا أصلا بل يرى الله في كل شيء فيها .

فالزهد ؛ هو أن تزهد في أن ترى الشيء بغير أن ترى فيه أجمل وأجل وأكمل شيء وهو الله
