Only three animals were controversial among modern Islamic debates, Dogs, Pigs and Monkeys.. Muslim were unable to lead any intellectual debates about them, reasons for restrictions, forbid and/or condemnations; which were divine and doctrine..

Keeping Dogs at Home
Dr. Ali Gomaa, former Grand Mufti of Egypt, states:
Caring for dogs is an act of charity. Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“While a man was walking, he became extremely thirsty. He came upon a well, descended into it, and drank. When he came out, he saw a dog panting and eating dirt out of thirst. The man said, ‘This dog has reached the same level of thirst that I reached.’ So he filled his shoe with water, held it in his mouth, climbed up, and gave the dog water to drink. Allah appreciated his deed and forgave him.”
They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, is there a reward for us in caring for animals?” He replied, “In every living being there is reward.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
Sidi Ali al-Khawwas attained sainthood because of his care for stray dogs; he used to clean the water troughs prepared for them. In the past, near the house of the judge, there were water basins placed for dogs, but they have since been removed.
There are several issues related to this subject:
First: Its purity.
Imam Malik held the view that every living being is pure; therefore, the dog is pure because it is alive. The scholars asked him about the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him):
“The purification of the vessel of one of you, if a dog licks it, is to wash it seven times, the first of them with soil.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Imam Malik responded that this ruling is devotional in nature (ta‘abbudi), not due to intrinsic impurity.
Second: Its saliva is impure.
In modern times, it has been discovered that a dog’s saliva contains germs that encapsulate themselves and are not eliminated except by soil.
Third: The angels.
The angels do not enter a place in which there is a dog. There is no way around this, as it is part of the nature of angels.
Therefore, it is necessary to designate a clean place for prayer that is separate and protected from the dog’s presence.

Or adapt it for publication or social media
