حسن أدب الظاهر

“Good manners outwardly are the title of inner manners, and it is said: He who does not know outward manners cannot be trusted with the manners of the heart.”

Thus, the manners of the Sufi indicate his station. Measure his actions, words, states, and character by the standard of Sharia.

What appears from you to people is a reflection of your inner self. The inner reality is always revealed through outward appearances, and you cannot conceal it entirely. If outward manners remain excellent, it indicates the soundness of the inner self. And whoever claims to have knowledge specially granted to him by Allah of the inner realities but does not display good outward manners is a false claimant.

Sharia is the standard by which a Sufi is recognized and known. Whoever outwardly contradicts it is not a true Sufi and is not as he claims.

The Imam, in his words (“measure” – zanwu), commands us all to employ our intellects, hearts, and spirits regarding what we observe in those who claim Sufism, spiritual guidance, or sainthood. And if we are not knowledgeable in Sharia, we should ask those who are. Or, if we are learned but unsure, we should consult those who are more knowledgeable.

حسن أدب الظاهر عنوان أدب الباطن وقالوا من لم يعرف أدب الظاهر لا يؤتمن على أدب الباطن
فالصوفى آدابه تدل على مقامه زنوا أفعاله وأقواله وأحواله وأخلاقه بميزان الشرع

ما يظهر منك للناس دليل على باطنك فالباطن دوما تبديه الظواهر ولا يمكنك كتمانه فإن دام حسن أدب الظاهر دل على صلاح الباطن. والذى يدعى أن لديه علم اختصه الله به من علوم الباطن ولا يرى عليه حسن أدب الظاهر فهو مدع كاذب

الشرع هو ميزان الصوفى الذى يعرفُ ويُعرَف به. فإن خالفه ظاهرا فهو ليس بالصوفى وليس على ما يدعيه من شئ. والإمام فى قوله (زنوا) يأمرنا كلنا ان نعمل عقولنا وقلوبنا وأرواحنا فيما نراه ممن يدعى التصوف أو من يدعى المشيخة أو الولاية وإن لم نكن من أهل العلم بالشرع فنسأل من لديهم علم الشرع أو إن كنا من أهل العلم وغم علينا فنسأل من هم أعلم

والله أعلى وأعلم
