A young Swiss man
His father is of French origin and his mother German.
He was Christian and embraced Islam at the age of sixteen.
He is now 41 years old.

also known as ‘Abdullah Nicolas,
the Swiss founder of the idea of the “Translated Qur’an Campaign” in Switzerland.

He was the first to call for setting up da‘wah tents throughout Switzerland to present the true image of Islam as a religion of peace. His current project is to build a strong Islamic community in all fields, calling upon Muslims in the West to unite under the banner of Islam in order to spread it and to reform Western society through its teachings that call to purity and chastity.

Speaking about the day he decided to embrace Islam, Nicolas says:

“I went out like a bird soaring in the sky. I felt overwhelming joy. I entered my home and immediately announced my Islam to my mother. She was shocked and did not recover for some time, then she tried to put pressure on me by accusing me of madness and attempting to convince me that I did not look handsome with a beard. None of that shook my confidence in the slightest, because I felt a peace of heart that I had never found throughout my life.”

After accepting Islam, Nicolas became a different person. After having studied printing engineering, he left it and returned to secondary school, which he had previously dropped out of. He succeeded and graduated ranked first among 400 students of his class.

He then went on to study Islamic studies at the University of Saint-Denis in Paris, after which he traveled to Yemen, enrolled in its ancient university, and earned a master’s degree with a thesis comparing European law and Islamic Sharia. He then returned to Switzerland, studied law at the University of Bern, and graduated, after which he devoted himself fully to serving the Muslims of Switzerland.

He assumed the presidency of the Swiss Central Islamic Council, which includes thousands of Muslims from Switzerland and other European countries and encompasses 17 da‘wah centers. He delivers lectures in mosques and cultural centers, engages in dialogue and debate calling to Islam and defending it, and—by Allah’s permission—many Europeans have embraced Islam through him.

He is the President of the Islamic Council of Central Switzerland (ICCS) and a board member of the Islamic Cultural Community Union in Biel (KGMB). He teaches at Al-Rahman Mosque in Biel, and before reaching the age of thirty, in 2008, he succeeded in forming an Islamic Shura Council in Switzerland that includes thousands of Muslims.

Before turning twenty,
he organized demonstrations condemning the offensive cartoons against the Prophet ﷺ in 2006.

وأول من دعا إلى نصب الخيام الدعوية في كامل سويسرا لإبراز حقيقة الإسلام دين السلام، ومشروعه الآن هو بناء مجتمع إسلامي قويّ في كلّ المجالات، حيث يدعو جميع مسلمي الغرب إلى الاتحاد تحت راية الإسلام لنشره وتصحيح حياة العالم الغربيّ بتعاليمه الدّاعية إلى الطّهر والعفاف.

عن اليوم الذي قرر فيه الدخول في الإسلام يقول نيكولاس: “خرجت كالطير المحلق في السّماء. كنت أشعر بفرح غامر ودخلت منزلي وأعلنت إسلامي بشكل مباشر لوالدتي التي أُصيبت بصدمة لم تفق منها لفترة من الزمن، ثم عادت إلى محاولة تضييق الخناق عليّ باتهامي بالجنون، ومحاولة إيهامي بأنّي لا أبدو وسيما بلحيتي، ولكنّ ذلك لم يزعزع من ثقتي شيئا لأنّي شعرت بالراحة القلبية التي لم أجدها طوال حياتي”.

بعد إسلامه تحول نيكولاس إلى شاب آخر، وبعد أن كان يدرس هندسة الطباعة تركها وعاد إلى الثانوية التي تركها سابقا وتمكن من نيل النجاح بترتيبه الأول بين 400 طالب من أبناء دفعته

ثم اتجه بعد ذلك إلى دراسة الإسلام في جامعة ساندينيس بباريس، ثم شد رحاله إلى اليمن حيث التحق بجامعتها العتيقة ونال شهادة الماجستير بعد رسالته عن المقارنة بين القانون الأوروبي والشريعة الإسلامية، ثمّ عاد إلى سويسرا ودرس في جامعة بيرن قسم القانون وتخرّج منه، ليتفرّغ بعدها للعمل في خدمة مسلمي سويسرا.

تولى رئاسة المجلس الإسلامي المركزي السويسري الذي يضمّ آلاف المسلمين من سويسرا ومن دول أوروبية أخرى وينضوي تحته 17 مركزا دعويا، ويلقي المحاضرات في المساجد والمراكز الثقافية، ويحاور ويناظر داعيًا إلى الإسلام ومدافعا عنه، وقد أسلم على يديه ـ بإذن الله ـ كثير من الأوروبيين.

هو رئيس رابطة مسلمي وسط سويسرا (ICCS)، وعضو مجلس إدارة «اتحاد المجتمع الثقافي الإسلامي» في بيال (KGMB). ويُدرِّس بمسجد الرحمن في بيال وقبل أن يكمل الثلاثين من عمره نجح عام 2008م في تشكيل مجلس إسلامي للشورى في سويسرا يضم ألاف المسلمين.
