لعل التصوف اختيار وليس خيار

Perhaps I will come to understand what the words of love and kindness truly mean, which echo throughout the universe,
and the purpose behind them is to nurture the follower and the friend,
for the sake of elevating the word of truth and reality.
Yet my thoughts sometimes wander to the idea that
not every lover is a mystic, but every mystic is necessarily a lover.
Such is the choice of the Most High, Exalted be He,
and not the choice of the fleeting, insignificant mortal—may Allah forgive him.

لعلي آرى ما تعنيه كلمات الحب واسحسانه ، والتي تتردد في آرجاء الكون
والمقصد فيها من تربية المتابع والصديق
من أجل إعلاء كلمة الحق والحقيقة
ولكنني قد أشرد بفكري إلى أن
ليس كل محب متصوف ، ولكن كل متصوف بالضرورة محب
هكذا هو اختيار من العلي القدير سبحانه
وليس خياراً من الفاني الضئيل غفر الله تعالى له
