On this day, the grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in Karbala alongside many of his family members.

A truly dark day in Islamic history.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Husain is from me, and I am from Husain. May Allah love those who love Husain.” (Tirmidhi)
