A wise man was asked about the best of women, and he said:
She is the one who pleases her Lord, endears herself to her husband, does not abandon her home, performs her five daily prayers, and does not disclose her secrets.
Her voice is not heard; she is honored among her people yet humble within herself. She is a tender, nurturing nurse to her child, and her home is a garden.
If she receives goodness from her husband, she is grateful; if she sees hardship from him, she is patient. When he enters upon her, she is cheerful and smiles; when he leaves the house, she feels sadness and longing. If he becomes angry with her, she endures and shows forbearance.
When she approaches him, she pleases him; when he is absent from her, she safeguards him. If she sees a fault in him, she conceals it, and if he apologizes to her, she accepts his excuse.
