Islamic Common Sense..

Islam can’t survive without common sense and public participation.. A Muslim is a mirror of his own beliefs and his society as well..
Almost one third of the Islamic rulings are related to the public behavior and the shared or exchanged social responsibility among the Muslims..
The scenes of individualism is swiftly increasing, while the compassion among Muslims are declining.. Yes, these are symptoms of urbanity and inevitable materialism..
Also, they are a challenge to all who claim the true belief..
Are You One..?

There’s a Good Reason This Photo Is Going Viral in the Arab World

praying together

At first glance, it may seem like the three people pictured praying by their cars in the middle of the road are causing an obstruction.

The photo was taken in Saudi Arabia, a country where there are mosques and prayer rooms everywhere and one may ask why did these people decide to block a lane of traffic and pray on the road?

The reason is actually quite incredible. As it turns out, they were complete strangers who were involved in a collision and while they waited for emergency services to arrive, they decided to pray in congregation so they would not miss the prayer.

Saudi traffic rules dictate that drivers involved in a collision should not move their cars until the authorities arrive to investigate.

The photo has now been shared many times on social media sites and its a story that deserve to go viral!

Simply; Unbelievable…!

8th century Kerala mosque allows women to ‘visit’ for the first time, but where to from here?

For Seema Razaq, the visit to a 1000-odd-year-old mosque that had been a male bastion all these years was an especially memorable one. She had, as did other women, a small role to play in making it happen.

A resident of Thazhathangady in Kottayam district, Seema had for long, harboured the desire to visit the Juma Masjid, believed to be one of the oldest Sunni mosques in India. Situated on the banks of the Meenachil river – one of Kerala’s Heritage Zones – the mosque is famous for its unique pillars, arches, teak pediments and intricate Arab-style carvings.

When the masjid’s committee threw open the doors of the mosque for women to visit, it was because of the amorphous but continual pressure exerted on the committee by various women, often independently of each other.

Seema says that the idea to demand entry for women into this particular mosque geminated during one of the many ayalkootams – informal neighbourhood meetings – of women over a year ago. Many of these women had contacts with the mosque committee members and began raising the issue around a year ago.

“When we first started making the request, they weren’t open to the idea. Now, finally they’ve decided to give permission. I hope they let us continue to visit,” Seema says.

The mosque committee allowed women to visit the mosque on two days – Sunday and May 8 during the intervals between prayer times. On Sunday women were allowed to enter the mosque between 8am to 12pm, 1pm to 3:30pm and finally from 4:30 to 6pm.

Masjid Mahallu Committee secretary Yusuf M told The News Minute, “Foreigners come here often but women of our own locality have never been inside. Taking into consideration their long-standing request to be able to enter the mosque, the committee decided to grant them permission on Sunday as well as on May 8.”

However, this isn’t a whole-heartedly benevolent or magnanimous gesture. Not only are there restrictions on timings of the visit, but also a prescribed dress code is to be followed. A hand written board prominently displayed at the entrance, clearly says that only properly-dressed non-menstruating Muslim women could enter. And till the time they exit the place, they should have only Allah on their minds. It also mentioned that this should not be construed as worship or celebration but a mere visit.

Despite this, practically everyone whom The News Minute spoke to, welcomed this step. But many of the women also wanted to pray inside the mosque.

“This is the first time I have entered a mosque. I just cannot express my happiness. I would love to come here regularly to offer Namaaz but that’s just not possible, right,” sighs Saudha Hasssan, a 60-year old who stays right next to the mosque.

However, faced with women like Saudha, some of the committee members did allow the women to offer prayers in a smaller hall off the main prayer hall.

Sixty-five-year-old Ayishumma, who came all the way from Malappuram, was ecstatic. Although she came with the expectation of only being permitted a visit to the beautiful mosque, she was allowed to pray.

“We could offer namaaz for the very first time inside a mosque. Of course, we would love to be able to have access to all mosques. But that is just not possible, as all this has to do with our beliefs. But if the committee allows, we would be so glad,” she says.

No part of the mosque was out of bonds for the women, including the main prayer hall. However, they were forbidden from entering that room when the men arrived for namaaz.

There was a noticeable difference in the attitudes of various groups of women. The older women were more accommodating, content with permission to visit if not to offer namaz.

But younger women like 19-year old Fousiya Yusuf, were more assertive. Even though she was appreciative of the current situation, she felt more was needed.

“A separate place and a time could be made available for the exclusive use of women inside the mosque. It’s time to change,” she says.

Although the committee has given in to the demands of the women, in accordance with spirit of the times, there appear to be various strands of opinion and shades of comfort and discomfort with the current decision within the committee.

This was evident when men accompanied the women of their families for the visit and entered the mosque together. Some of the men, including committee members, objected to this and separated the men and women. Some of the committee members were also unhappy that women were allowed to pray inside the mosque even thought it had not been formally approved.

The committee has a lot of decisions to make, but while there may be different degrees of assertiveness among them, the women who came to the temple were very happy to be there. And some of them, like Seema and Fousiya, regardless of the different generations that they belong to, firmly believe that women should be allowed into mosques.
“They should allow us to pray here,” Seema says.

The ayalkootams are held regularly; perhaps the contours of further action will emerge there.

Preaching Islam….

There are many ways to preach Islam, without offending or abusing others.. In addition, a preacher should respect the religion, not offering it as a material for hypocritical debates or aggressive reactions..  Nevertheless, a Muslim women is ruled not to perform prayers whereas men can watch or take advantage of..

Despite the peaceful message this group means, the tool is unlikely appropriate.. Muslims should not put the religious practice to be questioned.. It is sacred.. and honorable..

Igniting debates on the integrity of the faith is also inappropriate, as it would add no value to a believer, nor attract a disbeliever to believe…!

Good intentions had already delivered unfortunate results…!

Regrettable Error in Translations

With the challenges of social media, whereas everyone is free to post, question, answer and even issue Fatwas; the formal religious authorities are torn between the excessive flood of queries to answer, or views to verify, and the capacity to deploy scholars to manage the momentum.. Certainly, many of those entrusted Imams are not up to the level of understating, advocating and leading the Muslim nations.. The religious education systems in most of the Muslim countries preserve the seats for the children of poor, illiterate and almost unemployed parents..

This is how Shiite-Sunni, Jihasism, ISIS, and Infidels were generated

Fatwa is the fine art to interpret the religious clauses into practical and lively ones.. Utilizing not only the inherited text books, interpretations and guidance, but also the intellectualism of the time to assure no epistemic conflicts.. If the scholar does not know; simple admits that Allah swt knows better.. even so, in all cases..!

The current dilemma of inappropriate or “sometimes-stupid” Fatwas are largely related to the linguistic conflicts between modern Arabic and ancient one.. In addition to the lack of efficient Arabic interpreters and translators; who would preserve and secure the knowledge among cultures and people..

Unfortunately, it is dangerous, painful and disturbing, yet with little to do..!!

NEW ISLAMIC FATWA: A father can have lust for his daughter if she is over 9 years old

Diyanet is the highest religious authority in Turkey and the final authority in interpretation of Islam. It controls the country’s 85,000 mosques. Recently the authority issued a fatwa – an interpretation of Islamic rules – which created intense debate. To a question from a believer, Diyanet replied that from an Islamic view it had no impact on a marriage “if a father kisses his daughter with lust.”

Baby Girl Recites Quran

An Arabic quote tells: “Teaching at Young is alike Engraving in a stone..”

Certainly, teaching basics at young age would last for the entire life.. It would stay memorable and sharp be alike engraving the stones; which would last.. I guess it is a general education principle.. There are basics that should be memorized without effort.. While there are queries that would trigger the intellectualism.. Education would vary between both; in addition to sport, art and life style..

Regretfully, many Muslim.. in particularly Arabs, had neglected both memorization and intellectualism.. Therefore, the young generations are almost dump.. or lazy and senescence-addicted.. I am not sure if the coming time would allow to rectify the deteriorated situation, or enable opportunities to hold the Islamic Legacies tight..

Many Muslim implicitly tend to repeat a versa which assures that Allah swt preserves the Quran and the Islamic knowledge as well..!
Is this enough..?

Islam

I only disagree with covering the body statement, apparently a feminist view rather than Islamic..
I’d say that Islam has a different views on nudity, that uproot the typical sexism performance and fantasies; keeping individuals focusing on the higher sociocultural values.. Yet, conditioned with reasonable availability of complicit, mature and matrimonial grounds..
Ironically, most of formal attire and fashion protocols look Islamic..!

Muslims at a Hindu Temple

Co-existence is certainly a noble cause that we all support.. yet, confusing the religious practices only initiate confused generations, who will easily be radicalized..

The Subcontinent has long strong and interesting history, that had made the demises among religious groups weak and fading.. There are many cross religions marriages, business and politics.. Therefore, it was the birth place of the radical Islam back to 1930th.. Today, many of the radical preachers are native Indians and Pakistanis.. In Bangladesh there are a violent scenes of religious radicals..

It is a long and great challenge for all moderate Muslims to advocate for the true Islam, while hatred and tense relations growing fast.. It seems that both politicians and preachers have a united cause of making money out of the ignorant poor people..

It is unlikely to defuse of reshaped anytime soon..!!
